The Calendar provides a summary of the events taking place in 2010. It will be regularly updated during the course of the year.

January - December Charles Rolls exhibition at Nelson Museum, Monmouth. Mon to Sat (incl. Bank Holidays) 10.00-13.00, 14:00-17:00; Sun 14:00-17:00. Closed Christmas and New Year. Free admission. Further details of events in the year marking the centenary of the death of Rolls at Rolls 100 website.

21 November
Fasten your seat belts ready for At-Bristol's brand new show about the science of flight. How does something as heavy as an aeroplane or a helicopter manage to stay in the sky? Would you know how to fly a plane if you found yourself in the cockpit? Explore these questions and more with this exciting family show packed full of bangs and very strong gusts of air. Chocks away! 18 September
The Weston-super-Mare Story', an exhibition at The Helicopter Museum explaining the role that the Bristol Aeroplane Company has played in Weston-super-Mare over the last one hundred years. For further details read the Press Release and visit the Helicopter Museum website. After 18 September, the BAC at Weston exhibition continues in the display hangar for Bristol helicopters.
31 August - December History of Flight exhibition on the First Floor at Bristol Central Library using items from Local History, Reference Library and private collections. Accompanying artefacts include a flap from Samuel Cody's British Army Aeroplane No 1, as flown and crashed at Farnborough in 1909. Free entry. Open normal library hours.
4-5 September Bristol International Kite Festival at Ashton Court. Public events 12.00 noon to 17:30. Free entry (parking charges apply). Read Press Release for further details.
18 September 2010 - 30 January 2011 BAC 100 exhibition Flight: 100 Years of the Bristol Aeroplane Company at Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery. Exhibition open daily 10:30-17:00. Late night opening to 20:00 every Wednesday. Free exhibition entry. Look out for details of special events including linked aviation-themed bus tour tickets on sale from City Sightseeing. 12 October - December The History of Concorde Exhibition at Thornbury & District Museum. An exhibition of Concorde components, seats, documents and flown commemorative covers to chart supersonic history from the early 1960s to 2003. Open Tuesday - Friday 13:00-16:00, Saturdays 10:00-16:00. Free entry. Further details at the Concorde Aero Collection website and on this poster.
21 October -
2 December
Exhibition at Yate & District Heritage Centre by acclaimed aviation artist Marion Bennett. The featured aircraft will be Vulcans, Lancasters, Spitfires and Boxkites. Free admission. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 10:30-16:30.
6 November Screening of the newly restored silent classic Wings at Watershed Media Centre in association with Bristol Festival of Ideas and Bristol Silents. Introduced by film historian and restorer, Kevin Brownlow. 13:00-15:30. Price: £8.00/£6.00. Contact Watershed on: 0117 927 5100, book online, or visit in person.
7 November Fun With Flight Families Day at Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery. Have fun making paper aeroplanes and testing different parachutes. Understand the science of flight with expert guidance from Adam Nieman. 10:30-16:00. Free entry. Part of the programme linked to the exhibition Flight: 100 years of the Bristol Aeroplane Company. From 11 November To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Blitz, Arnos Vale Cemetery is holding a month of events on the theme of "remembrance". This culminates in a service on Wednesday 24 November: the day of greatest destruction during the Bristol Blitz. Go to the Arnos Vale A Month to Remember page for details.
21 November The Royal Air Force in Concert Tour 2010 comes to Colston Hall, Bristol. A memorable evening of popular classics from the stage and screen, rousing military music plus big band numbers performed by the legendary swing band The Squadronaires. Further details at the Air Tattoo website.
24 November Bristol before Rolls-Royce. Talk by Patrick Hassell at Conigre Unitarian Meeting House, Trowbridge. Starts 19:30. This is a West Wiltshire Industrial Archaeology Society event. 27 and 28 November BAC 100 Bus Tours from City Sightseeing to coincide with the exhibition Flight: 100 years of the Bristol Aeroplane Company. Guides will share facts, places and sights that tell the story of Bristol and South Gloucestershire's first 100 years of aeronautical history. Depart from Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery at 14:30. Cost: £10 per head. Book in advance or pay on board. Private bookings also available for larger groups. 9 December The Bristol Story. Talk by Peter R March at Tyndall Lecture Theatre, H H Wills Physics Laboratory, Bristol University, Tyndall Avenue, Bristol. Opening with a Bristol Boxkite flying over Durdham Downs, the ups and downs of the Bristol Story will be illustrated through to the last Concorde heading to Filton and the celebratory flight of an Airbus A319 over the same location on 19 February 2010.
